Pakistan Steel Pipelines Association (PSPA) Chairman, Sanaullah Salman has said that if the government does not stop revengeful activities, PSPA will shutdown industries, which would increase unemployment and poverty in the country. Therefore, FIA should be instructed to withdraw all cases made against the industrialists.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference along with other office-bearers of PSPA, here at the press club Tuesday. Salman alleged the government submitted wrong reports to Supreme Court of Pakistan just to cover their wrongful activities. He said the officials of Pakistan Steel Mills, appointed by government, were responsible for loss of 22 billion rupees.
Other reasons for losses were mismanagement, political interference, purchase of raw materials on higher rates, commissions and local and foreign borrowings on higher mark-up rates, he maintained. He questioned as to why Pakistan Steel Mills has been portrayed to be working in loss when it is earning profit. PSPA chairman said dealers of steel mills purchase steel products from the mill after following all the rules, regulation and formalities.
