KWSB enhances daily water quota for SITE

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has enhanced its water supply for SITE Industrial Area and has increased the daily "quota" of water for SITE Ltd from 2.5 MGD to 5 MGD. Minister of Commerce and Industries Sindh M A Rauf Siddiqui took serious notice of precarious water supply condition in SITE Area and ordered MD SITE Ltd, Abdul Rasheed Solangi to meet with Water Board officials and resolve the problem.
Following the directives of Minister Commerce and Industries Sindh Rauf Siddiqui MD SITE Ltd Abdul Rasheed Solangi met with Water Board Engineers and concerned officials. Water board gave assurance to MD SITE Ltd to provide 8 MGD water daily. Solangi said we will try to provide water without any shortage, SITE Area is a backbone of our economy and we are totally aware of the problems of Industrialists and SITE Ltd will take serious measures to resolve the industrial problems.
We will not let the problem of water shortage hit SITE Industrial Area in future, he added. The meeting was called on SOS Salim Parekh, Chairman, S.I.T.E Association sent to the Governor of Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ibad a few days earlier on acute shortage of water industries due to which about 50 percent industries in SITE are running under capacity and are on verge of closure.
The meeting was attended by Abdul Rasheed Solangi, MD SITE Ltd, Salim Parekh, Chairman and M Nisar Shekhani, Former Chairman, S.I.T.E. Association of Industry, Najami Alam Siddiqui, Chief Engineer, BT, Owais Malik, Chief Engineer Zone III-B, KW&SB, Shamshuddin Sahito, Dy. Managing Director (Technical), Abdul Sattar Abbasi, Estates Engineer (Water), SITE Ltd and other officials.-PR
