Punjab University conference on education from October 21

Punjab University Institute of Education & Research (IER) in collaboration with Promotion of Education in Pakistan (PEP) Foundation, Inc. New York is organising third three-day international conference on education from October 21 to 23, 2010 at Punjab University. "Issues, Challenges and Reforms in Pakistan: A National Education Forum" will be the theme of the conference this year.
Sub-themes would be curriculum and instruction, effective pedagogical strategies, assessment and evaluation, teacher development, leadership in education, ICT in education, reforms in school education, reforms in higher education, education policies, public private partnership, quality assurance and accreditation, gender issues, financing of education and impact of globalisation.
Meanwhile, Punjab University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (ICET), from July 28 to August 10, 2010, will organise a series of professional development workshops on various topics. Professor Dr Mahmood Saleem and Engr. Abdul Basit will be the co-ordinators at the workshops.
Two-day workshop on "Process Integration and Intensification" will be held on July 28, on "Implementation of Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008) in Process Industries" on July 31-August 1, one-day workshop on "MatLab for Engineers and Scientists" on August 4, one-day workshop on "Numerical Methods for Engineers and Scientists using MatLab on August 5, one-day workshop on "Energy Conservation and Sustainability" on August 6, two-day workshop on "Implementation of ISO 17025 for Quality Assurance in Testing and Research Labs" on August 7-8, while one-day workshop on "Hazards and Operability (HAZOP) Study" will be held on August 10, 2010.
Furthermore, Punjab University, Faculty of Engineering and Technology would organise the fourth symposium on 'Engineering Sciences' on 1st March 2010. The opening ceremony of the symposium would also be held at the faculty. The symposium will cover topics such as chemical engineering and allied, metallurgy and materials engineering and electrical engineering.
