Excellent performance has shown by the National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 North Zone during the first half of 2010 in reducing accidents ratio and assisting the road users in distress, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abbas Hussain Malik here on Tuesday.
DIG said that during this period from January to June 2010, NH&MP officers of N-5 North Zone issued 569669 challan to the different kind of vehicles on their violations and rendered timely and effective help to 146371 road users in distress. Whereas, road safety education have been imparted to 634758 road users to establish a learned society, besides recovering 15 stolen vehicles and arresting 39 culprits who were involved in different crimes.
During this period, the officers reunited 33 lost children with their heirs and reduced the accident ratio to 47 percent, as compare to the first half of the year 2009. NH&MP officers have also celebrated jovial occasion with the road users by distributing gifts amongst them and actively participated in national campaigns against polio.
Malik has said that in compliance of the directions of Inspector General NH&MP, Dr Wasim Kauser, this zone will actively participates in all road safety events in future to educate the road users. The DIG applauded the performance of the officers and expected that the officers will show the same motivation of services in future also.-PR
