Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmad has strongly condemned the high handed manner in which the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had tried to impose US will on Pakistan. He has demanded that the US war on terror, which has devastated Pakistan's economy and impaired its security, must be reviewed immediately in light of the unanimous Resolution of the Parliament adopted on October 22, 2008.
Professor Khurshid said that while the United States is pursuing 'exit policy' from Afghanistan. It is pushing Pakistan deep into the Afghan quagmire. "The People of Pakistan have time and again expressed their opposition to the US imposed war and their total dissatisfaction and disapproval of the role and agenda of the US. The present visit of Hillary Clinton and Holbrooke has totally uncovered the US objectives and the dangerous consequences of the Indo-US Alliance for Afghanistan and Pakistan," he emphasised.
He stressed that time has come for Pakistan to start dissociating itself from the US war on terror and resolve its own security issues in the best interest of Pakistan. "An All Parties Conference be convened to formulate a consolidated national policy pursuing Pakistan's strategic interests and de-linking our policies from the US agenda, which unfortunately is designed to serve the purpose of India-US-Israel nexus," he demanded.
