Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 72,019 tonnes of cargo including 58,234 tonnes of import cargo; 13,785 tonnes of export cargo and 1,061 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 58,234 tonnes comprised of 1,675 tonnes of containerised cargo; 383 tonnes of general cargo; 22,789 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,286 tonnes of fertiliser; 13,742 tonnes of coal; 2,044 tonnes of flours; 2,717 tonnes of canola seeds and 33,387 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 13,785 tonnes comprised of 7,072 tonnes of containerised cargo; 280 tonnes of general cargo; 4,033 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,033 tonnes of cement and 2,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Sea Mercury, Ocean Host, Cap Gabriel and STX Patraikos sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz North Pole, Iron Butterfly, YK Santosa and Mazen-1 are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Iron Butterfly, Quetta and North Pole expected to sail on Friday, while another vessel viz Marcampania is expected to sail on Saturday.
A chemicals carrier Oriental Wisteria due to arrive on Friday, while eight ships namely APL Sokhna, CS Discovery, Valili, Hansa Stavanger, German-S, OEL Shreyas, APL Shenzhen and YM Asia are due to arrive on Saturday.

The total import cargo of 44,989 tonnes includes 11,206 tonnes of palm oil; 4,084 tonnes of sugar; 839 tonnes of canola seeds and 28,860 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 19,903 tonnes includes 1,915 tonnes of cement and 17,988 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Four container vessels viz CV CMA CGM Coral, CV Al-Noof, CV CSAV Cantabrian and CV CMA CGM Eiffel sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more vessels viz MT Argent Eyebright and MV Golden Falcon are expected to sail on Friday. A total number of five ships namely CV CMA CGM Eiffel, CV CSAV Cantabrian, MV Golden Falcon, MV Orient-II and MT Argent Eyebright are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sugar and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven vessels viz Al-Salam-II, Akaki, Semhow Crystal, Maersk Jurong, MSC Peggy, Pago and Royal Aqua carrying diesel oil, furnace oil, palm oil, containers and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four ships namely CV Maersk Jurong, CV MSC Peggy, MT Akaki and MT Royal Aqua carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. A container vessel viz MSC Jeanne is due to arrive on Saturday. A total number of five ships namely Aruni Rickmers, Nedlloyd Tasman, MSC Carolina, Rose-II and Sentosa carrying containers, cement and coal are also due to arrive.
