The rupee moved both ways against dollar and euro on the local currency market on Tuesday, dealers said. On the interbank market the rupee rose by four paisa versus dollar for buying and selling at 85.55 at 85.60, they said. In the second Asian trade euro ticked up towards a two-month peak above $1.3000, although traders were cautious about bidding it up too much as they await clarity on Deutsche Bank's exposure to euro zone sovereign debt.
Indian rupee was trading at Rs 47.05 versus dollar, Malaysian ringgit was available at 3.1880 and Chinese yuan was trading at 6.7761 in relation to the US currency.

According to the currency dealers, the dollar commenced trading at overnight closing of Rs 85.75 and Rs 85.85, as its buying and selling rates, respectively. There was no visible change in dollar's rate, which was closed at Rs 85.70 and Rs 85.90 against the Monday closing of Rs 85.75 and Rs 85.90, respectively.
On the contrary, the rupee could not get out of pressure and further depreciated its worth against the British pound. The pound's buying and selling rates were improved from last day closing of Rs 131.80 and Rs 132.80 to Rs 132.00 and Rs 133.00, respectively, the dealers added.
The dollar opened at Rs 85.50 (buying) and Rs 86.00 (selling) against the last rate of Rs 85.50 (buying) and Rs 86.00 (selling). It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 85.50(buying) and Rs 86.00 (selling)
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 131.08(buying) and Rs 132.94 (selling) against the rate of Rs 130.72(buying) and Rs 132.53 (selling). It did not observe further change in the last trading hours and closed at Rs 131.08(buying) and Rs 132.94 (selling).
UAE Dirham opened at Rs 23.26 (buying) and Rs 23.40 (selling) in the morning session against the last rate of Rs 23.23 (buying) and Rs 23.42 (selling). The value of Dirham against the rupee remained unchanged in evening session and closed at Rs 23.26 (buying) and Rs 23.40 (selling).
