Nawaz forms body to consider Mastikhel's pardon

29 Jul, 2010

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has formed a 4-member special committee under the leadership of Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa to consider pardon for PML-N legislator Sanaullah Mastikhel seeking written apology for tabling a resolution against media in the Punjab Assembly.
The Committee will finalise its recommendations within three days and submit the same to the party leader for final decision. It may be noted that Sanaullah Mastikhel had to face strong criticism from PML-N Quaid for moving a resolution against media in the Punjab Assembly.
The PML-N MPA Sanaullah Mastikhel in his letter addressed to Nawaz Sharif categorically stated that he would be ready to face any decision to be taken by the party leadership. In the letter, he also explained his position regarding tabling of resolution in the Punjab Assembly. Sanaullah Mastikhel said that resolution was jointly prepared by 17 MPAs hailing from different political parties; hence, he tabled the resolution with an impression that it was collective decision. However, he admitted that he must have tabled the resolution after bringing it into notice of party leadership.
