Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has constituted a five-member committee to investigate the plane crash of Air Blue flight No ED-202 of Airbus 320 at Margalla Hills on Wednesday. The five-member investigation team would be headed by Air Commodore Khawaja Abdul Majeed, Chairman Safety Investigation of CAA, well placed sources in CAA revealed.
The committee would investigate the cause of crash as why the plane was not allowed to land at Islamabad International Airport, the experts said, adding that they should also probe as why the plane which was flying on 3600 ft altitude suddenly flew high and why it was going towards Margalla Hills. It was learnt that the pilot of the ill-fated flight ED-202, Pervaiz Iqbal Chaudhry was retired from Pakistan International Airlines in 2008 then he joined the Air Blue, a private airline.
