The Karachi Port handled 108,387 tonnes of cargo including 84,000 tonnes of import cargo; 24,387 tonnes of export cargo and 3,370 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 84,000 tonnes comprised of 26,367 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,682 tonnes of bulk cargo: 375 tonnes of fertiliser; 19,102 tonnes of coal; 205 tonnes of sugar and 37,951 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,387 tonnes comprised of 17,891 tonnes of containerised cargo; 195 tonnes of general cargo; 851 tonnes of bulk cargo: 794 tonnes of cement; 57 tonnes of rice and 5,450 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five vessels viz APL Japan, Bunga Raya Dua, Seaways Venture, Yong Xiang Men and Karina Danica sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Manila Express, Hanjin Gdynia, Samin-1, Maria Nim and New Leading Sun are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Gulf Tiger, Oriental Westria, Karsiyaka, Manila Express and Hanjin Gdynia expected to sail on Thursday, while two vessels viz Bunga Raya Sebelas and Samin-1 are expected to sail on Friday. Three vessels viz Dorian, Uni Aspire and Ain Temouchent due to arrive on Thursday, while four ships namely Cape Mahon, Sima Saman, Qatar Spirit and Sammi Superstars are due to arrive on Friday.
