Government mulling re-enforcing price magistrate system

The government for ensuring price stability and discourage profiteering and hoarding of commodities including edible items by the traders, is considering to re-enforce price magistrate system in the country. "We are reconsidering to re-enforce prices magistrate system as it is the only mechanism to check prices for the relief of the people ", a senior official on the Ministry of Finance told APP.
He was of the view that after the introduction of the local bodies system there was no proper mechanism to control prices in the markets, which encouraged the profiteers and hoarders. "The government will not allow anybody to earn undue profits and involve in hoarding and unfair trading and wanted to revival of price magistrate system for the relief of people in the country", he remarked.
People belonging to different walks of life have welcomed the initiative of the government also urged it to re-enforce price magistrate system in order to discourage profiteers and hoarders across the country. The customers were of the view that in the absence of price magistrate mechanism the shopkeepers were charging the prices of their own and earning undue profits.
