After playing havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, the devastating flood would enter Sindh on Tuesday, said Chief Meteorologist of the Flood Forecast Division Hazarat Mir while issuing a special flood warning for river Indus at Guddu and Sukkur. The devastating flood is presently passing through the Taunsa Barrage in southern Punjab.
GUDDU:
Mir said the river Indus at Guddu is likely to reach the high-flood level - ranging between 500,000 to 600,000 cusecs on August 03, which is likely to reach an even higher level - ranging between 950, 000 to 10,50,000 cusecs on August 06. Under this scenario, the inundation of the low-lying areas of the districts Ghotki and Sukkur is imminent, he added.
SUKKUR
He said according to the latest hydrological conditions, the river Indus at Sukkur is likely to reach the high-flood level - ranging between 500,000 to 600,000 cusecs on August 04, and is likely to reach an even higher level - ranging between 900,000 to 10,00,000 cusecs on August 07. Under this scenario, the inundation of the low-lying areas of districts Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah, Hyderabad and Naushehroferoze is expected, he also said.
According to press release of ISPR Pakistan Army contingents have been dispatched to vulnerable areas of Sindh on Sunday following a formal request from Government of Sindh in view of the impending flood.
It said that Army troops will assist the Government of Sindh and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in flood rescue operations whereas the latter are preparing for evacuation, relief and other support operations.
As per the decision, well before the onset of floods, heavy and suitably equipped contingents of Pakistan Army moved from Hyderabad and Pano Aqil Garrisons to Kandhkot, Larkana, Nosheroferoz, Dadu, Nawabshah and Thatta early Sunday morning.
Troops will remain in respective locations till the time the flood situation improves in Sindh. Later in the afternoon, two more Army contingents of Pano Aqil Garrison moved to districts Ghotki and Khairpur.
Besides these troops, a sufficient contingent is also kept as reserve at Malir, Hyderabad and Pano Aqil Garrisons, which can be deployed at short notice.
Flood monitoring cells are also functioning at the Corps Headquarters, Hyderabad and Pano Aqil Garrisons and monitoring activities.
FLOOD FORECAST FOR DG KHAN AND RAJANPUR
Mir said that moderate flooding is expected in hill torrents of DG Khan and Rajanpur districts between a time frame of 1700 PST Of August 01 to 0800 PST of August 02.

River Indus at Guddu & Sukkur and River Chenab at Marala - Low Flood.
WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Meteorological department on Sunday said that a monsoon low pressure is presently lying over Central India and is likely to move towards West-Northwest during the next 24 hours. Due to this weather system, the monsoon currents of light to moderate intensity are likely to penetrate in the upper and southern parts of the country.
PUNJAB INCLUDING ISLAMABAD
Thunderstorm/rain is expected at scattered places in northern and central Punjab in the evening and during night today, and tomorrow. More rain/thundershower is expected at scattered places with few moderate to heavy falls from August 02 to 04.
KHYBER PAKTUNKHWA
Mainly dry weather is expected in the upper parts of the province during the next 24 hours. However, thunderstorm/rain at scattered places with few moderate to heavy falls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 02 to 04.

Thunderstorm/rain is expected at scattered places in Sindh from August 02 to 04.
BALOCHISTAN
Mainly dry weather is expected in the upper parts of the province during the next 24 hours. However thundershower/rain is likely at scattered places in the eastern parts of Balochistan from August 02 to 04.
KASHMIR & GILGIT-BALTISTAN
Thundershower/rain is expected at scattered places in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours. More rain/thundershower is also expected at scattered places with few moderate to heavy falls from 02 to 04 August.
