Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has directed federal ministers to visit flood affected areas throughout the country and assess the needs of the affected people. The Prime Minster asked the ministers to co-ordinate their visits with the National Disaster Management Authority in a manner to facilitate the relief and rehabilitation work so as to alleviate the difficulties of the people.
The federal ministers have been allocated specific areas as per the following schedule:
-- Nazar Mohammad Gondal, Minister for Food and Agriculture, will visit Mandi Bahauddin, Bhera, Joharian, Khushaab, Mianwali and Bhakkar.
-- Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Minister for Water and Power, would visit Leyyah, Rajanpur, Taunsa, Sukkur and Guddu. He has also been directed to visit the barrages as well.
-- Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Minister for Industries and Production, alongwith Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani would visit different flood affected areas in Sindh province.
-- Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, Minister for Communications, alongwith Najamuddin Khan, Minister for State and Frontier Region, will visit different areas in Peshawar, Nowshera, Risalpur and adjoining areas.
-- Lal Muhammad Khan, Minister for Special Initiatives, will visit Malakand and Swat region.
-- Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, will visit Pattan and different areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
-- Humayun Aziz Kurd, Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development, alongwith Dr Ayatullah Durrani, Minister of State for Industries and Production, will visit Kund and its adjoining areas.
Rehman Malik, Minister for Interior, will visit different flood affected areas of Balochistan.
