Wheat, corn and soyabean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade soared early on Monday as concerns about drought in key exporter Russia sparked technical buying, lifting front-month wheat futures above $7 for the first time since 2008, traders said.
As of 9:42 am CDT (1442 GMT), CBOT September wheat was up 43 cents at $7.04-1/2 per bushel. CBOT September corn was up 10 cents at $4.02-3/4 per bushel and benchmark November soyabeans were up 20 cents at $10.25.
