Pakistan Navy has placed its bases and units in Sindh and Creek areas on high alert. A Navy press release here on Wednesday said that 10 Search and Rescue teams had been deployed to meet any eventuality in Kashmore, Pano Aqil, Gotki, Sukkur and adjoining areas.
It said that teams deployed in Ghotki Sector had rescued 400 stranded people from different Goths while 120 were rescued in Pano Aqil area. Furthermore, helicopters have been deployed for Search and Rescue Operations in required areas, while additional search and rescue teams and equipment are being transported to Sukkur.
Pakistan Navy is also in a process to establish medical camps in Sukkur region. Teams along with specialised doctors, useful medicines and equipment have already been dispatched to the required areas. In connection, Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Sindh, Saleh Ahmed Farooqi, on Wednesday met Commander Coast Vice Admiral, Tayyab Ali Dogar, at Headquarters Coastal Command to discuss the situation and relief efforts in detail.
