The Government College University (GCU) Lahore's last year minimum merit for admissions to various disciplines of Intermediate was 972 marks for Pre-engineering, 962 for pre-medical, 905 for computer sciences, 867 for general sciences and 792 marks for arts. The university is also offering Intermediate in Commerce (I.Com) for the first time.
A spokesman for GCU admission office said that last date for submitting form is August 13, 2010 and no forms would be entertained after this date. He also clarified that the students who have passed Matriculation examinations in 2010 and 2009 second annual examinations are eligible to apply. The GCU spokesman said that there are no admissions on self-finance basis. However, he said that trials/tests for admissions on sports /co-circular basis would be held from August 16, 2010 to August 21, 2010.
GCU Chief Librarian Abdul Waheed said that the GCU prospectus and all forms have been made available online for the convenience of students. The University has also appointed Director Intermediate Studies so that all FA/FSc/I.com students are supervised in a conducive learning environment that meets the approved curricula of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and the mission statement of GCU. He said that the director supervises admissions, attendance, lesson plans, calls observations and examinations at the Intermediate level.
