At least six more people fell prey to the ongoing spree of targeted killings in the city despite the shoot-at-sight orders given to the law enforcers raising the death to more than 90. Further, some miscreant also torched three shops, two houses and a godown in a reaction of killing of MQM activist in Baldia area. According to details, two persons including an activist of a political party were targeted in Baldia No 2 early in the morning.
Police said two armed bike riders targeted two people including Mohammad Shaukat, an activist of the MQM Unit 112, killing him on the spot. The deceased had received multiple bullet shots in his head and chest however, the identity of the other slain young man could not be ascertained, they added.
Soon after news spread in the area, some miscreant took to streets and set alight three roadside shops, two houses and a wood godown. Separately, two armed persons riding a motorcycle barged into a house of Mohammad Shaukat in the jurisdiction of Mauripur police station.
Armed bikers forcibly entered into the house of Shaukat in Mohammad Colony and opened indiscriminate firing leaving him dead on the spot. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi where doctors said that the deceased had received several bullets, police said.
In another incident, two people were targeted by the armed persons in Korangi area within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi police. Police said four armed persons riding two motorbikes intercepted Sultan Khan and Moosa Khan near Pasban Chowk and sprayed them with bullets. Both the people died on the spot and their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate and Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy. In yet another incident, an activist of MQM was targeted within the limits of Eidgah police. Police said two armed persons intercepted Qazi Aftab, an active member of the MQM and shot him with close range, leaving him dead on the spot.
