Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has speeded up relief efforts for the flood victims and so far, cash donations of around Rs 100 million and goods worth Rs around 150 million have been collected under chief minister's fund for flood relief & rehabilitation.
Mohammad Parvez Malik, co-ordinator of the committee constituted by PML-N chief for flood relief, told Business Recorder that PML-N leadership is personally supervising relief activities and is making all out efforts to help the flood affectees. He said Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is taking measures to reach and help the flood affectees.
Malik exhorted upon the business community in particular to come forward in this hour of need by sending donations to chief minister's fund. Huge damages have been caused due to the floods and huge resources are needed in the relief efforts, he added. He informed that besides dry ration and cooked food, government is also providing bottles of drinking water daily to the affectees. Similarly, medical teams are engaged in providing treatment facilities to the patients in the flood-hit areas.
