The Punjab University Oriental College, Lahore magazine has earned the unique honour of having been included in the recently published list of one hundred most important research journals identified by the members of Advisory Committee of the Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS) which is available on http://quod.lib. umich.edu/b/bas/help/fastrac.htm.
Vice Chancellor Punjab University Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran, while expressing his happiness over the enviable achievement, has congratulated the Chief Editor of the Magazine Professor Dr Mazhar Moeen and Editor Muhammad Javed.
This well-deserved honour of having been included in the top hundred research journals is owing to the fact that the Oriental College Magazine is one of the most prestigious research journals of the subcontinent which is being published without any break for the last 85 years since its inception in 1925. In addition, this Magazine is also viewed as a highly valuable research publication in the eyes of leading literary circles particularly among the Orientalists.
The Magazine contains writings of prominent writers and scholars in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Punjabi and English languages pertaining to oriental literature and culture. The Magazine, which is recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, is also included in the Bibliography of Asian Studies maintained by the Columbia University, USA. Besides, it has also been enlisted in the Ulrich Periodical Directory.
