Police here arrested five persons, including a doctor, Shehzad, and a vaccinator, Ghaffar, after strong protestation by residents of Hajvari Town after mysterious death of three children just after vaccination against water-borne diseases.
Faisalabad DCO has constituted a six-member committee to identify the real facts. However, EDO, Health, Abdur Rashid, claimed that the vaccination was not expired.
Post mortem of three children, Habiba Bibi, and her twin sister Rabia, daughters of Bao Mehmood, and another child Fahad was conducted at Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, in the presence of senior Professors of Punjab Medical College. The examiners collected samples of blood and other parts of stomach and investigation was in progress, said EDO, Health.
Protestors including residents of Hajveri Town took out a procession against the doctors' and vaccinators' team and blocked the traffic at Chishtia Chowk for several hours. After registration of FIR on the report of Bao Mehmood against five persons including Dr Shahzad, Vaccinator Ghaffar and a lady vaccinator, and others, protestors called off the protestation on Sunday afternoon.
Police claimed that all accused persons have been arrested and they would collect medical report from Allied Hospital. DCO, Faisalabad, also visited the hospital and Hajveri Town and assured the public for justice.
