The profit after tax of Hub Power Company (Hubco) has increased to Rs 5.556 billion in the financial year ended June 30, 2010 (FY10) as compared to Rs 3.780 billion earned the corresponding period on FY09. The company's earning per share increased to Rs 4.80 in the period under review against Rs 3.27 in the same period last year.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Monday recommended a final cash dividend for the year at Rs 2.50 per share, ie 25 percent. This is in addition to interim dividend already paid in April 2010 at Rs 2.50 per share, ie 25 percent.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's turnover increased to Rs 99.694 billion in FY10 against Rs 82.783 billion in FY09 while the operating cost increased to Rs 92.006 billion against Rs 76.687 billion.
