Chambers begin election process for 2010-11

Almost all the chambers of commerce and industry in the country have started process of holding annual election for the year 2010-11, and majority of them have announced the schedule of election. Election of almost all the chamber of commerce and industry is likely to be completed on or before September 30, 2010.
However, the premier chamber of commerce and industry and 8th biggest chamber of the world, namely, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), has yet to announce annual election schedule for the year 2010-11. The election of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on 7 seats of corporate class and 8 seats of associate class will be held on September 21 and 22 respectively.
Likewise, election of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) for executive committee, reserved seats for women and office-bearers will be held on September 15, 16 and 17 respectively. Election of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) for cooperate, associated seats and reserved seat for women will be held on September 14, 15 and 16 respectively. Election of office bearers will be held on September 20.
Election of Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 6 vacant seats of corporate member, 6 vacant seats of association members and reserved seat of women will be held on September 21,22 and 23 respectively. Election of office-bearers will be held on September 27.
