"Sindh is the only province, having Katcha areas spread over 2 million acres of land and the present flash flood is of higher intensity as compared to the flood of 1975," he added.
Almost all the Katcha areas of districts Ghotki, Kamber-Shahdadkot, Shikarpur etc have been inundated by the floodwater which is now entering cities of many districts such as Karampur, Ghouspur, Thul and Khanpur, he said, adding that canal breaches had also caused damages to the properties of people, compelling them to leave their houses.
"Let's hope and pray to God that the floodwater would go straight into the Arabian Sea without causing further loss to lives and properties of the people," the relief commissioner said.
