Flood situation report

The Irrigation and Power Department, Government of Sindh has announced the following flood situation report for August 10, 2010. River Indus is flowing in Super Flood at Guddu Barrage and will remain in the same station for the next 24 hours. River Indus is flowing in Super Flood at Sukkur Barrage. It will be in Super Flood during the next 24 hours. River Indus is flowing normal at Kotri Barrage.
It will be at low flood during the next 24 hours. The river discharges at Guddu, Sukkur and Kotri Barrages as recorded at 6 a m on August 10, 2010 are as follow. At Guddu Barrage upstream discharge was recorded 10,87,890 cusecs, downstream discharge was 10,87,332 cusecs and flood stage at upstream was super flood. At Sukkur Barrage upstream discharge was recorded 11,30,995 cusecs, downstream discharge was 11,08,795 cusecs and flood stage at upstream was super flood.
At Kotri Barrage upstream discharge was recorded 1,92, 512 cusecs, downstream was 1,90,447 and flood stage at upstream was normal. The position at RIM stations was as follows: Indus River at Tarbela upstream inflow was 569,000 cusecs, downstream inflow 526,000 cusecs and flood stage was high.
Kabul at Naushera: Upstream inflow 248,800 cusecs, downstream inflow 248,800 cusecs and flood stage was very high. The super flood is passing through Guddu Barrage with discharge of 10,87,890 cusecs and will remain in the same situation till the next 24 hours. It is expected that the discharge at Sukkur Barrage may pass in the range of 10,50,000 cusecs to 11,00,000 cusecs within the next 24 hours.
