The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Wednesday dismissed a plea of a girl, Laiba Sehar willing to marry a condemned prisoner, seeking permission to live with a blood relative instead of Dar-ul-Aman. The court turning down the request directed Laiba to file reply by August 17 on show cause notice earlier issued to her for concealing facts from court in a bid to obtain permission for marriage with a condemned prisoner, whom she claimed to be her fiancé.
The court had issued show cause notice to Laiba while recalling his earlier order wherein her marriage was allowed to be held in jail after it was transpired she had concealed facts from the court. The court had issued this order on petition of Laiba's father Muhammad Sarwar, who was against the marriage of her daughter and requested the court to review its order.
Sarwar also disclosed that Laiba's real name was Sidra Kanwal and she was already married to one Muhammad Nadeem Ahmed in April 2009. He said Laiba filed a suit for dissolution of marriage and managed an ex parte decree on January 20, 2010. Petitioner said Nadeem had also got a case registered about abduction of his wife Laiba (Sidra) and was not aware of the filing of suit for dissolution of marriage.
