PAF continues relief efforts

PAF continued its flood relief efforts in the affected areas of Pakistan. PAF C-130 aircraft continued evacuation of stranded people from the flood affected areas of Skardu and Gilgit, after a bad weather break of six days. More than 150 stranded people including the foreigners were evacuated by a C-130 aircraft from Gilgit, on Wednesday.
In last two days, a total of 459,166 lbs of load comprising of dry rations, tents, medicines, blankets, carpets, mineral water, ready-to-eat meal were transported to flood affected areas of DG Khan, Multan, Rahimyar Khan, Madalwala, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Khawaza Khela. Forty-four boats were transported by PAF C-130s to Sialkot and Sukkur.
Nineteen-member medical team was conveyed by a C-130 aircraft from PAF Base, Faisal (Karachi) to Sukkur to be deployed in flood affected areas of Sukkur and adjoining areas. More than 3000 ready to eat meals were dropped by PAF helicopters in the flood affected areas of Khawaza Khela and 75 people were rescued from Kalam.-PR
