Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS) is carrying out relief activities in flood-hit areas of the country and helping their brethren in this hour of trial apart from extending medical facilities. PPS President Professor Dr Haroon Rashid Chaudhry said this while addressing the annual day function of Fountain House here on Wednesday.
He was of the view that havoc played by floods was wrath of Allah Almighty; hence, "We must beg pardon of our sins and seek mercy from Allah Almighty." He said the nation must observe "Youm-e-Touba" on Friday and make collective prayers for getting blessings of Allah Almighty.
He said the floods had caused heavy damages and the whole nation should exhibit the spirit of sacrifice and concentrate on hard work, righteousness and discipline. He also expressed concern over differences in political leadership and called for forging unity to face all the challenges. He also announced that Female Drug Rehabilitation Centre is being set up in Fountain House, Lahore. Haji Inam Elahi Asar, Ayesha Javed, Farooq Butt and Professor Dr Nazifa Usman attended the function and distributed prizes among the players.
