Three of Sindh barrages to face high floods: warning issued

The flood forecasting division has issued a special warning for Sindh province about the dangerous flood situation at three major barrages of the province namely Guddu, Sukkur and Kotri during next two days.
GUDDU: According to the latest hydrological condition, River Indus at Guddu is likely to attain exceptionally high flood level, ranging between 9,00,000 to 10,00,000 (cusecs), on 13-08-2010 (evening) to 14-08-2010. Under this scenario, inundation and riverine flooding in the low-lying areas of districts Khairpur, Jacoabadabad, Ghotki, Sukkur is expected.
SUKKUR: Similarly, River Indus at Sukkur is likely to attain exceptionally high flood level, ranging between 9,00,000 to 10,00,000 (cusecs), on 14-08-2010 (evening) to 15-08-2010. Resultantly, inundation and riverine flooding of low-lying areas of Districts Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Naushehroferoze is expected.
KOTRI: River Indus at Kotri is likely to attain very high to exceptionally high flood level, ranging between 600,000 to 800,000 (cusecs), from 12.08.2010 (night) to 13.08.2010. Under this scenario, inundation, riverine flooding and riverbed in the low-lying areas of District Hyderabad, Thatta and adjoining areas, is expected.
