Jamiat-Talba-Islam (JTI), student wing of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F) has collected relief goods including medicines, clothes and crockery of one truck and cash amount of Rs 0.1 million through its 10 relief camps erected in different parts of district Peshawar. The student wing of the religio-political party will distribute the collected donations according to a list compiled by their organisation.
This was stated by General Secretary JTI, district Peshawar Amjad Ali Marwat, Press Secretary Asifullah Marwat and others while addressing a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Thursday. They said the assistance received by the government so far for the relief of flood affectees is insufficient and appealed the patriotic Pakistanis to make efforts for provision of relief themselves. Assistance for the flood affectees is a moral as well as Islamic obligation of the Muslims of Pakistan, they added.
They also urged on the political parties to set aside their differences at this critical stage and join hands for provision of assistance to the helpless flood affectees, lying under open sky. They said the affected people are lacking shelter and waiting for food supplies, and demanded the government for provision of assistance to the flood affected families as soon as possible.
