Pakistan and Brunei are to start negotiations to finalise a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a pledged grant of $1.4 million, sources in Economic Affairs Division (EAD) told Business Recorder. They said that the Government of Brunei has pledged a grant assistance of $1.4 million for the following projects in the earthquake affected areas of AJK and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP).
(i) Reconstruction and rehabilitation of Government Primary School Jawarger ($0.1 million); and (ii) reconstruction and rehabilitation of Government Boys Degree College, Bagh, $1.3 million. Sources said that the two countries have to sign a MoU to materialise the grant.
The draft MoU has been cleared by the Finance Ministry, Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) and Auditor General of Pakistan.
