A health-education campaign has been jointly launched by Provincial Health Department, World Health Organisation (WHO) and Unicef to create awareness among the people, especially of the flood-affected areas for adopting precautionary measures to avert spread of epidemic diseases. The people of affected areas have been advised for maintaining cleanliness, using boiled water or purifying it through purification tablets, covering utensils and washing hands after using toilets.
Those who don't have space outside for dumping waste material should bury it so that it does not create germs. They advised that pregnant women must be cared and vaccinated even at the relief camps. The women should feed milk to their infants, which is the best nutrition.
