Four persons were killed and six injured two of them seriously, when an empty oil tanker burst near GTS overhead bridge, here on Monday evening, which was parked at a workshop of its repair. According to details, an empty oil tanker JP-9681 was parked at a workshop on Railway Kutchi Abadi road. Suddenly, Oil Tanker burst and it's backside crushed the four motorcyclist and an rickshaw.
Four motorcyclists were killed on the spot, while other six injured persons shifted to DHQ hospital by Rescue team-1122. Two injured reported to be serious in DHQ. DCO Faisalabad, Naseem Sadiq and members of Rescue team 1122 confirmed that four persons Javed Gulzar 30, Mudasar Shoukat 28, Umer Saeed 23 and Suleman Tariq 28 were killed in this accident, while peoples of the area revealed that five persons were killed on the spot.
Six Injured persons Bahadur Khan, Muhammad Anwar, Noor Hussan, Arif and two unknown persons admitted in the hospital. Peoples of the area stated that this accident was took place due to negligence of the care taker/driver of the Oil Tanker. It is said that he had not opened the upper-lid of the empty oil tanker, resultantly gas created in the empty tanker.
When oil tanker burst, a big rear of tanker hit motorcyclists and a rickshaw travelling on the road. Police sealed the affected area had and experts are trying to dig out clue of this mishap. Peoples of the areas strongly protested against the illegal parking of the oil tankers and trucks etc. They demanded that strict action should be taken against the illegal stands and all oil tankers must be pushed out of the city.
