'Flood Relief Football Tournament' from August 17

As many as 18 prominent clubs of Lahore will be showing their mettle in the 'Fair Play Flood Relief Fund Football Tournament' that will be played at Model Town Football Academy (MTFA) ground from Friday (August 27). Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar MPA will inaugurate the event. In the opening match, Model Town Football Club will clash with Raiders Football Club.
Other 16 participating teams of the event are: Afshan Club, Fatima Memorial, Flying Horse, Garhi Shahue United Football Club, Gulshan-i-Ravi, Nadeem Football Club, Pensi Club, Publican Club, Quaid Football Club, Samanabad Football Club, Shah Kamal Club, Shaheen Wahdat Club, Usmania Football Club, Walton Football Club, Young Shooters Football Club and the newly-emerged UMT Football Club.
The management of FairPlay NGOs, formed for the development of football in the country, has decided to run the event in pursuance with the announcement of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), which had asked the footballers to participate for contributing in the relief, rescue, rehabilitation and reconstruction work, said MTFA President Mian Rizwan Ali who is also the chief organiser of the event. Rizwan also hailed Fifa Chief Sepp Blatter for expressing condolences over the massive losses of lives and properties and infrastructure because of the devastating floods.
