Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday submitted two privilege motions against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and an adjournment motion against the lynching of two brothers in Sialkot. MQM leaders Dr Farooq Sattar and Haider Abbas Rizvi submitted these privilege and adjournment motions in the National Assembly Secretariat.
APP adds: The privilege motions have been submitted against Nawaz Sharif's claimed continuously hiding facts from nation, making false assertions and meeting army leadership in violation of the promise made in Charter of Democracy. The adjournment motion has been submitted against brutal killing of two youth in Sialkot and snail pace progress on the case by the Punjab Government.
These motions bear signatures of 25 MQM members of National Assembly as Deputy Parliamentary Leader Haider Abbas Rizvi and MNAs Farhat Khan, Sheikh Salahuddin and Sajid Ahmed also accompanied Dr Farooq Sattar at the time of filing in the darkness of night. "Was it any service to democracy? Why did they violate the pledge made in Charter of Democracy?" He said they had filed privilege motions on these issues as these gestures of the PML-N leaders had breached the privilege of the Parliament.
Similarly, he said, an adjournment motion had also been filed against the brutal killings of two youth in Sialkot that had earned bad name for the country across the world and the Punjab government moved very slowly to act against responsible. Replying to a question about future course, Farooq Sattar said, more facts about these politicians will be revealed to the nation in coming days.
