Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 84,530 tonnes of cargo including 51,127 tonnes of import cargo, 33,403 tonnes of export cargo, 2,828 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 51,127 tonnes comprised of 19,546 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,006 tonnes of general cargo; 21,540 tonnes of bulk cargo: 18,360 tonnes of coal; 1,036 tonnes of TSP; 2,144 tonnes of MAP and 9,035 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,403 tonnes comprised of 10,261 tonnes of containerised cargo; 211 tonnes of general cargo; 15,931 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,027 tonnes of cement; 7,904 tonnes of bulk cement and 7,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely Kota Singa, Kota Arif, Lodestar Genesis, MT Johar, APL Agate, Yong Sheng and Stolt Megami sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Hanjin Montevideo, Saigon Express, Trade, Alliance Beaumont, Moscow Sea and Perseverance are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Hanjin Montevideo, Red Sea Spirit, Mare Dore and Saigon Express expected to sail on Thursday, while three vessels viz Moscow Sea, Glory River and Perseverance are expected to sail on Friday. Eight vessels viz MT Swat, Samho Leader, Uni Aspire, Thana Bhum, Mare Gallicum, Condor, Ocean Host and Ocean project due to arrive on Thursday, while five ships namely APL Guangzhou, CSL Ride, Bunga Raya Sepuluh, YM Asia and YM Europe are due to arrive on Friday.

Two container vessels viz CV CMA CGM Mozart and CV ACX Hibiscus sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Azure and MT Kalimantan are expected to sail on Thursday afternoon. A total number of eight ships namely CV ACX Hibiscus, CV CMA CGM Azure, MV Captain Said, MV Alexi-1, MV Zenobia, MV SV Mat Vey, MT Sea Lion and MT Kalimantan are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, coal, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four vessels viz City of Guangzhou, Sichem Marseille, Al-Salam-II and Green Line carrying containers, chemicals, diesel oil and cement are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three ships namely CV City of Guangzhou, CV CMA CGM Puget and MT Sichem Marseille carrying containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday. Three container vessels viz CV Maersk Jurong, CV MSC Namibia and CV RHL Fiducia are due to arrive on Friday.
