Threat to Jamshoro subsides

After a drop in flood level at Kotri Barrage the threat to Jamshoro and Kotri talukas has reduced significantly, nevertheless, the district government and irrigation staff have been painstakingly monitoring the situation. A statement issued by MNA Nawab Ghani Talpur here on Saturday, stated that the devastation wreaked by the floods could not shatter their courage and that they would vigorously kick-start the rehabilitation drive once the flood had settled down.
Apart from the government, he said that he himself with forthcoming co-operation of his friends was helping the IDPs with requisite facilities besides food and shelter. Talpur said the government would not forsake the people in distress and all efforts would be made for their rehabilitation along with compensation for their losses. The MNA informed that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani would himself visit Hyderabad to monitor the relief and rehabilitation activities.
