The Lahore High Court (LHC) here Monday directed petitioner to submit his reply to a report submitted by Secretary Education and adjourned the proceedings filed by All Pakistan Private Schools Welfare Association against extending of summer vacations. Earlier Secretary Education contended in his reply said due to heavy flood in the province summer vacations are extended.
Association's president Zulqarnain Shah in his petition took plea that under education code the private schools could only observe summer vacations for two months and ten days. But, he said, the government extended the vacation for next 21 days, which was an illegal act. Apart from the illegality on the part of government, precious time of students was also being wasted as they could not be able to complete their syllabus, petitioner said and prayed to the court to set aside the impugned notification.
