District Administrator Tando Muhammad Khan, Ali Muhammad Lund has directed the engineers, volunteer workers not to leave the river embankments till the receding in river flow does not come down to 4 lac (0.4 million) cusecs. This he directed while visiting the river embankments at Mula Katiar, here on Monday.
He said that now, Mula Katiar, Wasi Malook Shah and Tando Muhammad Khan are safe. He advised the people not to panic or pay heed towards speculations/rumours but join hands with the flood-fighting agencies. The administrator said that though it is a good omen that receding in river flow is being witnessed since last two days, but the receding behaviour of river is supposed to be more dangerous and needs proper attention and vigilance. Lund said they fought with the increasing flow and now have to combat the receding one. He hoped that they would face the challenge. He said that with the participation of local people/volunteers, the embankments of Indus River passing from Tando Muhammad Khan have been made strong enough to sustain even the pressure of super flood.
