Ulema launch fund-raising campaign

World United Ulema-o-Mashaikh Council Monday announced to visit different countries of the world for raising of donations for flood affected people and urged the world community for generous donations and provision of assistance in reconstruction and rehabilitation of the flood affected areas.
Speaking at news conference, here at press club, Chairman, World United Ulema-o-Mashaikh Council, Allama Maulana Mohammad Shoaib said that the Ulema and members of the council are separately carrying relief activities in flood-hit areas of the province. The council also hinted at taking religious scholars and leaders of Afghanistan, India, and Iran.
He said the council would formally launch funds raising campaign and relief operation for flood survivors shortly. The Ulema of Afghanistan have also affiliated with the council, whereas the Indian and Iran religious scholars and leaders have been contacted. Maulana Sohaib said the council would announce funds following the generation of donations through foreign trips.
Explaining aims and objectives, Maulana Mohammad Shoaib said that the council will make efforts for resolution of the challenges of sectarianism, terrorism, extremism, lawlessness, instability and other faced by the Muslim Ummah. Accompanied by General Secretary, Syed Mehmood-ul-Hassan, he said the council would try its level best for promotion of tolerance, magnanimity, unity and brotherhood around the globe. He said that it is a non-political council and not use for as platform for holding portfolios and other vested purposes, he maintained. However, he said, members will be freed for participating elections in their countries.
All kind of conspiracies hatched against the Muslim Ummah will be foiled through the council platform, he added. He announced that the "Juma-tul-wida" will be observed as Yumai-Palestine (Day of Palestine) to mark solidarity with people of Palestine. To a query, he said the council activities would formally be launched following joint consultation, whereas measures would be initiated for maintaining peace during Muharramul Haram.
