Power shortfall in the country on Friday surged to 2062 MW from 650 MW which compelled Pakistan Electric Supply Company (Pepco) to observe three to four hours load-shedding across the country. Power generation was recorded 14,277 MW against a total demand of 16,339 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to daily power generation report, hydel generation stood at 6,537 MW, Wapda thermal 2,119 MW, IPPs 5,559 MW and Rental Power 62 MW. As many as 800 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report added. It said water level at Tarbela and Mangla Dams was recorded as 1550 and 1206 feet respectively, which have attained maximum conservation level.
