05 Sep, 2010

As many as 100 Indian fishermen who have been released after completing their sentence would be handed over to the Indian authorities at Wahgha Border on Sunday (today). Out of 442 fishermen who are facing imprisonment in different jails in the Sindh province, the government has released 100 more fishermen from Malir Jail, Karachi.
These prisoners would be released and handed over to the Indian authorities in four phases. It is pertinent to mention that 100 fishermen have already been released in the first phase, who crossed Whagha Border early in this week. The representatives of different non-governmental organisations including South Asia Partnership Pakistan would be present at the Wahgah Border on Sunday. The NOGs who were actively involved in releasing in Indian fishermen appreciated the Sindh government in this regard.
