District co-ordination Officer (DCO) Naseem Sadiq has urged ulema to forge unity among their ranks to foil the nefarious designs of terrorists. He said that the sentiments of the religious harmony, brotherhood, fraternity and national solidarity should be promoted for maintaining peace in the society. He stated this while presiding over a meeting of District Core Committee held here at his committee room in wake of Lahore terrorist incidents at Karbla Gamay Shah.
The participants of the meeting strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the procession of mourners on the event of martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (R.A) and termed it a malicious conspiracy to destabilise Pakistan and sabotage the peaceful atmosphere in the country.
The meeting also offered fateha for the martyrs of the Lahore incidents. He said that the volunteer guards of the worship places should also be deployed along with the official security arrangements and suspects should be checked thoroughly.
Any laxity or weakness in security arrangements should be identified immediately so that it could be redressed without delay. SSP Operation, Shaukat Abbas informed the meeting that the comprehensive security plan is being implemented for the protection of religious gatherings, worship places and the tombs. He hailed the co-operation of the ulema, business community and the representatives of civil society in maintaining the law and order situation. The participants of the meeting tabled various proposals for improving the security arrangements and promoting religious harmony.
