Breach in Suprio bund widens to 150 feet

Floodwater is gushing towards Mehar as the breach in Suprio bund has widened to 150-feet. Around 80 percent population of the Mehar city has been moved to safe places while thousands of people are working to fill the cracks in Juhi Bund on self-help basis, private news channel reported on Sunday.
Juhi City's ground links with Saeedabad, Sehwan Sharif and Dadu has been disrupted due to inundation. Meanwhile, a 50-feet wide crack in Manara Canal submerged hundreds of acres of agricultural land and damaged the ripe crops. The Irrigation Department kicked off efforts to fill up the breach 10 hours after it emerged.
On the other hand, water level in Kotri, Sukkur and Guddu barrages is receding as inflow in Sukkur Barrage is 351,460 cusecs while in Guddu 736,000 cusecs.
