Another Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat activist gunned down

Another activist of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Lines Area on Monday. Killing of religious activist sparked violence in southern part of the city and business activities in the financial hub remained suspended for hours. A large number of ASWJ associates came on roads and set ablaze tires on fire and chanted slogans against the government and demanded for arrest of killers.
Ghayasuddin son of Imam Bux, residents of Lines Area was targeted and killed near CDGK Parking Plaza in the remits of Brigade police station. He was Incharge of ASWJ Lines area and was killed when he was coming back to home after dropping his children in their schools.
On receiving information police reached on the spot and sent the death body of Ghayasuddin to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctor pronounced him dead. The news of his death sparked violence in the area and traffic mess was observed. The business activities in Saddar and M A Jinnah Road suspended for hours. He was buried in Model Colony Graveyard after funeral prayer. A large number of ASWJ activists participated in the funereal prayer.
