Profiteers fined Rs 3.92 million for violation of Price Control Act

Price Magistrates have so far imposed a fine of Rs 3.92 million on profiteers and other violators of Price Control Act and Ihtram-e-Ramazan Ordinance during the holy month of Ramazan. According to details, a fine of Rs 1.78 million has been imposed in Faisalabad, 0,97 million in District T T. Singh, 0.72 million in District Chiniot and 0.43 million in District Jhang.
This was disclosed by Commissioner Tahir Hussain during a meeting here on Tuesday. The commissioner issued directions to the Price Magistrates that implementation of fixed prices for Ramazan Bazaars and general markets should be ensured during the last days of Ramazan and on Eid days.
He has further instructed them to keep vigilant eye on profiteers and adulteration mafia to make sure provision of cheap and quality products to the masses. Moreover, he has instructed officials of labour and health department to ensure the standard of weight and measures as well as the quality of food.
