The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Tuesday directed Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and Chief Traffic Officer to ensure one-way traffic at Turner Road and take action against violators. The court also directed them to remove encroachments and submit a compliance report by September 15.
The court is hearing a petition against traffic disorder at Turner Road, backside of LHC, and mushroomed encroachments on the road causing constant inconvenience to the visitors. The petitioner Muhammad Wasil Khan through his counsel Alamgir Khan pointed out that traffic chaos had become an order of day at Turner Road due to inefficiency of traffic police as it was a one-way road but nobody obey the rule. He said uncontrolled growth of vendors and makeshifts shops on the road also cause inconvenience to lawyers especially whose chambers were in large number on the said road.
