'Transparent utilisation of funds be ensured to bridge credibility gap'

Tariq Sayeed, former president, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry has endorsed the view point of Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Sheikh wherein he has appealed to the federal and provincial g governments and military authorities to demonstrate highest level of fiscal responsibility in order to avert a complete economic breakdown.
He said that the country is facing the worst natural disaster of its history due to the current unprecedented floods, and requested to all stakeholders to stand by in time of crisis and extend their co-operation beyond their normal responsibilities to steer the nation out of an economic mess. He added that the business community of Pakistan was enthusiastically engaged in providing all possible assistance and stressed the government to ensure transparency for utilisation of funds, which would enhance trust level of the masses on government.
Seyeed suggested to the President of Pakistan to launch a dedicated website, providing the detail of funds collected and disbursed for flood victims, which should be accessible to all government functionaries and general public as well. "This would enable the visitors at national and national level to know the exact situation about the utilisation of funds, location of victims and ensure more transparency, said former president, FPCCI.-PR
