Safa summit to start from December 11 in Kathmandu

A two-day South Asian Federation of Accountants (Safa) summit would start from December 11 in Kathmandu. This was decided in Safa board meeting in Dhaka recently. According to scheduled programme, Safa Forum would be held in Kuala Lumpur on November 8, coinciding with the WCOA. There would be no cost for Safa as the hosts of WCOA would provide space free of cost.
It was decided that the format of the forum should be a panel discussion on IFRS and IPSAS. Safa president would seek confirmation of international participants to whom he had already contacted. The experts include Kevin Stevenson, Chairman, Australian Accounting Standards Board and former Technical Director of IASB, Andreas Bergman, Chairman, IPSAS committee and MD Faiz, Chairman of AOSSG.
The forum should be of a short duration lasting about 2 hours. Abdullah Yusuf, Vice President North, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) attended the Safa board meetings in Dhaka and CA Conference organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Bangladesh.-PR
