Free airlifting continues: PIA's transportation of goods touches one million kg mark

PIA's free airlifting of relief goods has reached over one million-kg. The national flag carrier is continuing free uplift of relief goods both domestically and internationally from its network for the flood-affected people of Pakistan, a PIA spokesman said. He said that a total of 10,14,368 kg of relief goods have so far been airlifted free of cost by PIA and more relief goods' carriage is underway.
PIA airlifted 136,062kgs from Middle East, 21,116kgs from Far East Asia, 31,285kgs from South East Asia, 355,614kgs from five stations of United Kingdom (London, Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester), 75,231kgs from European Countries (Frankfurt, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Milan and Paris), 49,409kgs from USA, and 38,920kgs from Canada while 306,731kgs of relief goods were airlifted from Karachi. The relief goods that are being airlifted free of cost by PIA from its network include survival kits, medical supplies, food rations, dry milk, mineral water, ORS, blankets, new clothing, and household items etc.-PR
