Pakistani students launch donations drive at Peking university

Students of Urdu Department and Pakistan Study Centre at Peking University here launched a campaign for collecting donations for the victims of recent floods in Pakistan. Stalls with pictures of devastation caused by the floods were put on display on the occasion.
A large number of students as well as faculty members contributed for the cause and an amount of RMB 10,000 (US $1500 approx.) was collected as a manifestation of their support for the flood victims and a gesture of their solidarity with Pakistan. Established in 1898, Peking University is a major research university of China. It has more than 30,000 students and ranks highest among Chinese Universities. Peking University has the distinction of being the alma mater of Chairman Mao Zedong.
